SE1LUV - From Dependence To Independence

SE1 Luv is a group that was formed in 2001. We held a very successful event on regeneration on 19th February, 2002, as some may remember. There is a core group made up of six members from this previous event. This time around the event is based around Regeneration and Black History month.

This project is aimed at enabling young people to fully participate in the SRB process. It compliments existing work as it strengthens and reinforces prior learning and gives young people a sense of ownership, responsibility and identity as a recognised and valued part of the community.

The first event that took place in February 2002 attracted 150 young people from the area. This event was a huge success where young people were able to make a contribution in what happens in their area.

The second event, a talent show, was held at the Ministry Of Sound on the 22nd October 2002 to look at regeneration and celebrate Black History month. Approximately 400 young people attended.
