The second Scuba 12” has landed, carrying on the work laid down on the first. Scuba has become one of the hottest artists on the dubstep circuit, and now that many of the biggest MCs from the Grime world are getting in on the act, these two tracks have been receiving constant reload calls at Forward and DMZ for the past few months. Thank U continues where “Timba”, from the first 12”, left off. A massive sub, sledge hammer snare and a speaker-shattering half-step break that seems to hark back the early days of hardcore. Innovative stuff from Scuba. Words develops the sub bass theme, with an even more assaulting snare and a haunting synth line that ensures the classic dubstep depth. Words was a Hatcha exclusive for months earlier in 2005, which helped make it one of the most talked-about tracks of the year.
