After the devastation caused by the last release from Emalkay, Boka sees the return of the mighty MRK1 from Manchester’s’ Virus Syndicate with a big four track EP. With previous releases on Rephlex and Soulja, to name but a few, and a debut album on Planet Mu, MRK1 has staked his claim as being one of the most talented and consistent underground producers in the UK. 1) Tinkerbell: Tinkerbell builds with quirky sounds, before the lights go out and the dark bass drops. Getting heavily played on Radio 1 by The Plastician. 2) Deadman:Tight strings and crisp hi hats lead the track into a typical MRK1 two note bassline which is backed up my menacing strings. 3) Trench Walk: With more gun shots than an average American film, Trench Walk stomps along with low-end anger – a track for the Boka tank! 4) Quiver: The EP finishes off with Quiver - one of the coldest, darkest electro mood-step tracks of 2006
