Music Poster: Lewis Allen Reed was born on March 2, 1942; in Brooklyn, New York. After performing with the Velvet Underground, his previous band, Lou Reed began his solo career in 1971. Reed was a very volatile person, and crossed many genres with the songs he wrote. He was known for being a Rock and Roll artist, a Glam-Rock artist and even a Folk-Rock artist. Reed is still going strong, and at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards, he performed "White Light/White Heat" with The Raconteurs.
