Repress of 2005's anthemic 'Kingstown', on which dread vocalisor Spaceape scratched a bleak dubtronic portrait of Jamaica's capital over a top-ranking Kode9 rhythm populated with melancholic synth riffs, delayed tablas, and enough surging sub-bass to sink babylon. “The abject MC sounds like Prince Far I reincarnated for post-punk dub devotees. Dread personified, underpinned by a mesmerically repetitive bass descent, this supremely fresh, superbly executed release is vast sonically and chillingly resonant thematically. Deep. Working not just on a cerebral level but a physical and emotional one, it's part grime, all maximalist synths and in-your-face riffs, but part Dubstep, with half step snares and a massive sub-bass drops.
