The British reggae producer Dennis Bovell's second album, originally released in 1980, is a largely solo effort that follows in the dubwise footsteps of its predecessor. More imaginative yet less manic than his Jamaican counterparts King Tubby and Lee "Scratch" Perry, Bovell nevertheless has the essential dub producer's knack of playing the mixing desk like an instrument, and the wit and technique to keep his musical explorations consistently spellbinding. Dennis Bovell is the godfather of British reggae both as an artist and a producer. His influences has been widespread and he was largely the man who introduced and re-invented British reggae in the late 70's-early 80's to the British public as a wide spread music genre. This album is a classic. He was experimenting with electronics in his music long before most people.
