Banksy at UKRecordShop.com

UKRecordShop.com are pleased to announce a new range of Banksy t-shirts depicting some of his best work, the range currently has 6 of his best designs but will expand to the full range very soon, Banksy is a quasi-anonymous English graffiti artist. He is believed to be a native of Yate, South Gloucestershire, near Bristol and to have been born in 1974, but there is substantial public uncertainty about his identity and personal and biographical details. According to Tristan Manco, Banksy “was born in 1974 and raised in Bristol, England. The son of a photocopier technician, he trained as a butcher but became involved in graffiti during the great Bristol aerosol boom of the late 1980s.” His artworks are often satirical pieces of art on topics such as politics, culture, and ethics. His street art, which combines graffiti writing with a distinctive stencilling technique, is similar to Blek le Rat, who began to work with stencils in 1981 in Paris and members of the anarcho-punk band Crass who maintained a graffiti stencil campaign on the London Tube System in the late 1970s and early 1980s. His art has appeared in cities around the world. Banksy’s work was born out of the Bristol underground scene which involved collaborations between artists and musicians.

Jade Ewen Joins Sugababes

UKRecordShop.com has just heard, Amelle Berrabah has left Sugababes & Jade Ewen is set to replace her… the full story broke on heatworld & the article is quoted below:

Amelle Berrabah has left the Sugababes, heatworld has just been told – and she is set to be replaced by singer Jade Ewen. Rumours that Amelle was quitting have been circulating all week, but just a few minutes ago an industry insider told us exclusively, “I’ve been told off the record that Jade is joining the Sugababes.” Jade Ewen’s record label Geffen sent an official statement out just a few minutes ago which read, “Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, we regret to inform you that Jade Ewen will be taking time off from all promotional activity for the foreseeable future.” Amelle has yet to release a statement confirming the news, but we will bring you any updates on this story as soon as we have them.

If you think you recognise Jade Ewen, it’s probably because she competed at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest representing Britain. She was born in London, and is just 21 years old. We think she looks rather glam and very Sugababe-like in this shot.

heatworld is currently in the process of contacting the Sugababes record label to ask for an official statement. Stay with us…

OK, so we’ve just spoken to a second industry insider and they have refused to deny the rumours. The official line at the moment is “no comment”. If there was zero truth to the rumours, then believe us, we would’ve been told by now. We’ll be watching this story very closely this evening and over the weekend, and we’ll bring you all the updates as soon as we get them.

Edit (22/09/2009): After weeks of speculation, a member has been ousted - but not the one we were expecting, as Keisha Buchanan is replaced by Eurovision star Jade Ewen, we repeat, its Keisha that has left Sugababes & not Amell.
